P.S. NEW BLOG

March 23, 2011

Check out my arts/music tumblr, DATE AND DIGESTIVE.

1.1

January 1, 2011

Well, everydayeveryart is officially over.

It’s been fun, long, educational, but mostly, fun.

I started this project out of frustration with the academic environment I’d put myself in and the lack of creative outlet it afforded me. Knowing that I had to do something creative every single day – even if it was just a silly doodle – was a real commitment I’m happy a stuck with. Nevertheless, most of the posts on this site were completed under serious time constraints. A girl’s got to sleep, after all. As a result, then, this isn’t necessarily the greatest example of my artistic ability, but it was never really meant to be. I’ve enjoyed myself and that’s all that matters in the long and short run, right?

More than anything though, this blog has been a beautiful medium to stay in touch with people. Having daily posts that could be viewed by friends and family on the other side of the world became a lovely way for them to see what I was up to. Everydayeveryart also grew into a special place to surprise people with paintings as presents, to encourage viewers to listen to my radio show, and to wish my friends happy birthday.

I am most proud of writing a novel.
I probably uploaded too many lomo photos.

I definitely drew hundreds of old men.

All that is left to say is THANK YOU for reading, for letting me know that you were out there, for adding me to your bookmarks and checking in every now and then. It has been lovely.

After receiving and watching Banksy’s Exit Through The Gift Shop for Christmas, I’ve been reminded how much I adore street art in all its manifestations.

There is something about confronting people, connecting with them in an urban space otherwise empty that is just so, so magical. The breadth and depth of street art’s variety today is truly incredible.

I remember when I first got into Blek Le Rat and Banksy, even made a few of my own stencils, all very 13-year-old rebellion.

Anyway, I’ve done a few fanboy stencils.
